How PlusTrac Works

Point-and-click AED Program Compliance

PlusTrac™ creates accountability for compliance via a series of checks and balances. Accountability starts at the individual AED level and escalates through a multi-tiered structure up to the program manager, if overall compliance becomes an issue. This automated escalation helps drive compliance from the lowest level upwards and makes people clearly accountable for maintaining compliance.

Routine Maintenance

Ensuring Your AEDs are Ready

Your volunteer responders receive the training they need to operate an AED upon the initial program rollout. However, over time, it is necessary to renew certification for those volunteer responders to remain compliant and, thus, protected by Good Samaritan laws.

PlusTrac™ requires monthly inspections and maintenance be performed by the 28th of each month. If this monthly maintenance is not performed, electronic notifications (e-minders) are sent to the local site administrator, informing them of each AED device that must be properly maintained. If this situation is not rectified, the escalating reporting system will notify the appropriate personnel, including the overall program administrator.

PlusTrac™ makes it easy to manage your volunteer responders at each site and see when it is time to renew their certifications. It also tracks affiliations by curriculum and certification length so that you’ll always have the information you need to ensure that volunteer responders are properly prepared.

Ensure Your AEDs Readiness

Part of having a compliant AED Program involves keeping the AED units ready to operate when the need to save a life arises. Your AED units have components that require replacement over time. The two main components that PlusTrac™ monitors are:

  • Expiration of the AEDs electrode pads; and

  • Replacement of the AEDs batteries.

If these items are not replaced when their expiration come due, PlusTrac’s ™ escalating reporting system will activate and inform the proper program personnel that the routine maintenance has not been performed and that immediate action is required, ensuring the program is always in compliance and that the AEDs are ready for use.

It is important to communicate the status of the AED Program to Corporate Administrators clearly and effectively on an ongoing basis. We provide an easy and comprehensive way through PlusTrac’s™ Interactive Reporting Console. The Console enables Program Administrators to view the real-time status of their AED programs with one simple click. Through this exclusive management tool, a Program Administrator will be able to view the status of routine maintenance checks, electrode pads, batteries and volunteer responders.

PlusTrac™ also provides you with a single account manager for streamlined communication. If the escalating reporting system is initiated within the PlusTrac application, We will contact your AED Site Coordinator via phone to offer reminders to take any action required for program compliance and readiness.
